The Wolds Arts Festival will bring the streets of Market Rasen and Caistor to life, with acts from some of the country’s most talented and breath-taking performers.
Experience new wonders right on your doorstep, with street theatres, live music, performance and an astonishing pyrotechnic show. The Wolds Arts Festival really does bring something for everyone.
Still reeling from their amazing performance at the Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony, Event FX will bring their astounding fire and pyrotechnics displays to both Caistor and Market Rasen. World famous for innovative and imaginative productions, Event FX have performed at International Olympic Ceremonies, cup lift moments of a Rugby World Cup Final, critically acclaimed West End Theatre shows…and have even produced their magic for Harry Potter! We’re so excited to have such a talented performance headlining The Wolds Arts Festival for us.
Grammy nominated professional orchestra Sinfonia Viva will join Event FX in Caistor on 2 October. Founded in 1982, Sinfonia Viva has a national reputation as a leader in creative music activity in the UK. The Orchestra has toured to Ireland and Berlin, has broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and has been part of a project for Granada Television.

1 October – Market Rasen
Chocks Away! Be amazed as Squadron Leader Regie Bigbarns-Mcsweeny commands the Unicycle Display Team in spectacular formations around the streets of Market Rasen.
Medieval Jester Show
Not just an enchanting show of jester skills like fire eating, juggling and mad feats of dexterity, the Medieval Jester Show will have your sides splitting with laughter with their constant banter and ramblings.
Back Chat Brass
Get funky with Back Chat Brass and their 7 piece brass band. Bringing all your favourite songs to life, Market Rasen will soon be dancing in the street!
How do you entertain yourself whilst waiting for a train? Take a leaf out of Rhubarb Theatre’s books as you discover how three quirky characters, meeting by chance on the platform pass the time in adventurous and exciting ways.
Armed only with a balloon, their baggage and a bicycle built for two, see how three intrepid travellers fair in their wild race around the world. Following Phileas Fogg’s footsteps, our adventurous heroes brave dangers, plunge into calamity and caper from country to country.
What do you get when a flaming piano, burning ropes, flaming BMX bikes, angle grinders and an animated fire and light moving sculpture of cogs and wheels come to Market Rasen? It’s Spontaneous Combustion of course! Delivered by Event FX, this grand finale promises more than just to astonish you…it will also keep you warm as the first day of the festival draws to a close.
2 October – Caistor
No street will be safe when Doris or Marge arrived on their souped-up shopping trolleys. These grannies are a force to be reckoned with their pumping tunes and rowdy dancing.
Under the control of local children, this ginormous puppet inspired by local legend, will parade through the streets of Caistor leading towards the Cabinet of Curiosity stage, ready for Sinfonia Viva to take to the stage.
Event FX and Sinfonia Viva join forces to produce this mesmerizing combination of live music, projections and pyrotechnics, on a giant purple inflatable stage.
Learn new juggling skills with Earthbound Misfits. This unique, fun, circus experience is open to everyone on 2nd October in Caistor.
The Wolds Arts Festival will launch Wolds Words, which is now in its 13th year of delivering new experiences to local residents.
