On 31 October 2019 a referendum was held on the Spridlington Neighbourhood Plan. A majority of residents voted in favour of wanting West Lindsey District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Spridlington to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area. A neighbourhood plan comes into force as part of the statutory development plan once it has been successful at referendum. Planning law requires that applications for planning permission be determined in accordance with the development plan, unless material considerations indicate otherwise. For more details on the referendum see relevant documents below and also view our By-Elections and Neighbourhood Planning Referendums page.
The referendum result is to be reported to the Full Council of West Lindsey District Council in the near future with a view to the Spridlington Neighbourhood Plan being made/adopted as part of the development plan for the area.
