Help using the internet

We are encouraging members of the public to use computers in the Guildhall, Marshall’s Yard, Gainsborough to help them make job searches, improve their CVs, access information on benefits, and much more.

Anyone who isn’t confident using computers or needs support or advice in accessing the various websites or getting the full benefits from them, can get help from friendly staff and volunteers.

The staff and volunteers work with customers at their own pace, with private one-to-one sessions offering in-depth support. Free expert advice and support is also on offer for help with improving employability and job applications.

Over 600 people have already benefited from this service and many have spoken with enthusiasm about the help they have received.

Stephen wasn’t very confident using online services, but after receiving regular support on sending his CV to prospective employers from the project’s employment adviser, he was successful in his application to a local company. Stephen said “without the support given to me I wouldn’t have been able to send any email applications. I wouldn’t have been able to get back into work.”

So if you think you could benefit from this service, come along to the Guildhall any weekday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (10.00 a.m. start on Wednesdays) and make use of the computers in whatever way suits you best.
