Community Support for Parish and Town Councils

Introduction

West Lindsey District Council provides various support to help local communities. Support schemes that we provide can help support local parish and town councils to maintain and enhance local communities.

Guidance has been provided by the Government for Parish and Town Councils on how to safely open and maintain play parks and green spaces during the coronavirus pandemic.

For the latest advice on play parks visit: www.gov.uk/covid-19-guidance-for-managing-playgrounds-and-outdoor-gyms

We have produced a Green Space Social Distancing poster which you can use on green spaces and play parks you maintain. There are 3 versions available to download so you can have a standard layout or add your name or logo to it.

We provide community grant schemes which Parish and Town Councils are eligible to apply to. We also provide details about other grant funding schemes and support the Lincolnshire Funding Portal, a free online search tool.

Our Community Defibrillator Service provides new installations and on-going maintenance. Parish and Town Councils are eligible to apply for new defibrillators and join our maintenance service.

As part of the Localism Act 2011 we manage Community Rights including processing nominations to list buildings/land as assets of community value. Parish and Town Councils are eligible to submit nominations for buildings/land in their area.

We provide monitored public space CCTV in Gainsborough, Market Rasen, Caistor and Hemswell Cliff. As part of our service we can provide advice to Parish and Town Councils on CCTV.
