Other council bills

The sundry debtor section is based within the Revenues and Benefits Department and is responsible for the collection of miscellaneous income.

In addition to the collection of Council Tax and Business Rates, the council is also responsible for the collection of various invoices and charges. These invoices are issued for the chargeable goods and services provided by the council or for a repayment to us of an amount that you were not entitled to such as overpaid housing benefit. Some examples where the council raises an invoice are:

  • Secondment mortgages
  • Additional garden waste collection
  • Trade sacks
  • Hire of sites or facilities
  • Commercial rents and office space
  • Car park permits
  • Licence fees
  • Market rent
  • Planning inspection charges

If you have difficulty paying your invoice by the due date please contact us immediately as we may be able to help.

If you dispute the invoice you have received please contact us immediately.

If you fail to pay by the due dates you will be issued with a reminder notice. If you fail to pay the outstanding balance we may take court action against you or release collection of the debt to an external debt collection agency.
