Forty new properties, 10 of which will be affordable homes, are currently under construction in the picturesque village of Nettleham.
West Lindsey is open for business and is pleased to welcome new developers Homes by Stirlin to the district, who are delivering their first site at Lodge Lane in the village.
James Kirby, Managing Director at Homes by Stirlin is excited to announce that the first phase of the site is due for completion. He said: “Lodge Lane is our first major residential development in West Lindsey, and the completion of phase 1 will finally allow us to showcase a ‘Homes by Stirlin’ home. We have developed a formidable reputation for our attention to detail, so we’re delighted we are able to deliver quality homes for local people.
“We chose to develop in Nettleham as the village offers a perfect blend of historic charm and modern amenities and is ideally located close to Lincoln city centre. Young professionals can reach the city in under 10 minutes, families benefit from local infant, primary and secondary schools and older residents benefit from the village shops and services.”
They have also been working closely with West Lindsey Building Control for the Lodge Lane development.
James added: “We have a great relationship with West Lindsey building control. We have our own design division, Stirlin Design, who are able to take advice from the building control officers on various technical aspects of a development ensuring all statutory requirements are met.”
Of the 40 homes at the Nettleham development, 10 of these will be affordable homes, with six, 2 and 3 bedroom homes available for affordable rent and four, 3 bedroom homes for shared ownership. These homes will be owned and managed by Ongo.
Ongo are the largest housing provider in North Lincolnshire and offer quality, affordable homes for rent and sale.
The affordable homes at Lodge Lane will be the first homes that Ongo own in West Lindsey and the council are pleased to welcome them and look forward to this new partnership.
Martin Phillips, Development Manager at Ongo is thrilled to announce that from this development, a quarter of the properties are affordable homes. He said: “We’re really excited to be able to offer much needed affordable housing in such a sought after area.
“These homes are being built to a very high standard and we’re sure they will be extremely popular, especially with their close proximity to Lincoln which will be ideal for commuting.”
Di Krochmal, Housing Strategy and Supply Manager, has worked closely on the project. She says: “It is great to see new developers and Registered Providers investing and delivering much needed new housing, including affordable options, in the district.”
Works for Phase 2 of the development have already commenced, with foundations and shell construction due to start in the next few weeks.
This development will deliver a great mix of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bed homes across a range of tenures including affordable rent and shared ownership. The affordable housing will provide opportunities for households who are unable to access or afford market housing to secure housing in this popular village. Priority will be given to households with a local connection to the parish of Nettleham.
The affordable homes will shortly be available to let from through West Lindsey’s new Home Choice system, this is the new way to register for Choice Based Lettings and for advice and assistance with housing in West Lindsey. To register, please visit: https://homechoice.west-lindsey.gov.uk.
