If you have never registered to vote, or recently moved house – then you are being encouraged to register by 12 April to vote in the 2019 elections.
The election of West Lindsey District Councillors is held once every four years and the election of town and parish Councillors will also take place at the same time, Thursday 2 May 2019.
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Friday 12 April 2019. Register on-line at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
- Postal Votes – are votes that can be cast and sent through the post rather than attending in person to vote.New applications to vote by post, amendments to existing postal votes or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Monday 15 April 2019
- Proxy Votes – if you can’t vote in person, one option is to cast your vote by proxy - this means getting someone else to vote for you. New applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2019.
- Emergency proxy applications, due to medical emergency or one relating to a service or work reason which occurs after 5pm on Wednesday 24 April, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 2 May.
