Gainsborough Market is excited to be once again taking part in the global celebration of ‘Love Your Local Market’ this May.

LYLM fortnight 2018 will run from May 17 to 31 on both our Tuesday and our Saturday Markets.

You will be able to enjoy the variety of market stalls and shops that the Market Place has to offer, whilst also enjoying 1 hour free parking in Gainsborough’s council owned car parks.

The national campaign aims to attract new market traders and highlight the importance that markets play at the heart of the local community, not only for retail but also as a valuable community asset.

Cllr Trevor Young, ward member for Gainsborough South-West and casual market trader is delighted to be attending the event. He said: “I am incredibly passionate about Gainsborough Market and I hope this event generates even more footfall in our great town.”

He added: “As ward member for Gainsborough, it’s great to see a real effort being made to regenerate the markets in the town centre. I would urge people to come along to the Love Your Local Markets event and see all the town has to offer.”

This event is free to attend, and there will even be a competition where you will have the chance to win a hamper packed full of goods from the market itself!

Flynn Harding of Flynn’s Fruit’s is excited to be trading during the event, he said: “I’ve been trading here for 35 years and our customers are great. We’re really looking forward to the Love Your Local Markets event - we’ve got lots of produce and offer a great variety of choice to our customers.”
