The consultation for a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to be placed upon Gainsborough General Cemetery and North Warren Cemetery will commence on the 24th June 2019 for 6 weeks.

Both cemeteries are owned by Gainsborough Town Council, who submitted the request for a PSPO to the District Council.

The consultation will provide an opportunity for residents to have their voice heard on this proposed order.

The consultation was approved by Regulatory Committee on 6 June and will propose restrictions relating to:

  • The control of dogs

  • Consumption of alcohol

  • The use of motorised vehicles.

The committee report with details of the proposals can be found here: democracy.west-lindsey.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=262&MId=2357&Ver=4.

Andy Gray, Housing and Environmental Enforcement Manager at the Council, said: “The consultation on this PSPO will help us to determine whether a PSPO should be put in place and to gain a better understanding of the issues that are occurring across the two cemetery sites in Gainsborough. We are keen to hear from all users of the areas or any particular groups that would be positively or negatively affected by any proposals.”

To respond to the proposals, answer the survey here: www.west-lindsey.gov.uk/gtc-cemeteries

The consultation period will close on the 5 August.
