Market Rasen Town Council Partnership are giving residents the opportunity to nominate their neighbours or friends for a chance to receive an Afternoon Tea picnic box.
The Town Partnership have already been working hard to support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic which have included supplying weekly packed lunches and hot meals to members of the community.
Members of the Partnership decided to launch the Afternoon Tea picnic box idea as a way of reaching those residents in the town who may be lonely, housebound or isolating due to COVID-19.
Cllr Jo Pilley from Market Rasen Town Council said:
“The work being done by the Market Rasen Town Council Partnership during the current pandemic is vital in reaching the many lonely, isolated and housebound residents within our community. It also currently provides much needed assistance and relief to many families by way of the provision of weekly food parcels and other needs”.
The picnic boxes will be prepared by a number of volunteers including Town Councillors, members of the Partnership, as well as local charity and church groups.
To nominate a friend or neighbour for an Afternoon Tea picnic box by emailing Cllr Stephen Bunney at email@example.com. The closing date for nominations is Monday 24 August and volunteers will deliver picnic boxes on Monday 31 August.
