Charities and Community Organisations that are delivering essential services to vulnerable residents in the current climate, can apply for a grant of up-to £5,000.

A £100,000 Community Fund was created by West Lindsey Distric tCouncil to support such groups during the Covid emergency, and access to the grant is available until 31st March 2021.

Eligible groups can apply for between £250 and £5,000 – and since the grant was created, organisations such as the Salvation Army, Feeding Gainsborough and Brookenby Community Group have been allocated funding.

Matt Snee, Community Engagement Officer, said: “Like everywhere else in the country, Covid-19 has hit out district hard – causing financial, emotional and physical distress to almost if not all of our residents. It is incredible to see so many people pulling together right now, to help those who are especially struggling, and that is why we have put this funding together.

“If you are part of a group that is providing essential services right now – it could be providing food to elderly residents, delivering medication, or checking in on someone to make sure they are ok, we want to help. Let us know and we might be able to provide financial support for you – so far groups such as Parish Councils, Community Groups and Charities such as the Salvation Army have applied and received funding and so we encourage you to apply. We are incredibly grateful for your support and services right now!”

This funding was created in April to support local charities and community organisations which were and are delivering essential services such as:

  • Good Neighbour Schemes
  • Access to food
  • Access to medicine
  • Transport

Physical and emotional wellbeing support Groups from rural settings are especially encouraged to apply for funding. To apply, download the application form from the West Lindsey Covid-19 Community Fund page [page now expired], on this page is also extra help and guidance for those thinking of applying.
