West Lindsey’s Building Control team are delighted to announce the completion of 11 stylish eco homes right by the Lincolnshire Showground.
Award-winning developers, Gusto Homes, have completed the second phase of the development, The Edge, and are now offering the properties for sale.
These unique high spec passive solar home properties provide high levels of insulation and the use of high efficiency electric heating with heat recovery ventilation.
West Lindsey District Council’s building control team have been working closely with Gusto Homes on the development, and have provided the site inspections on both phases. They have also provided technical talks about the developments to over 20 delegates.
Steff Wright, managing director for Gusto Homes, was delighted to announce the completion of The Edge. He said: “It’s always a pleasure to work with West Lindsey District Council, and much like during the first phase of this development, they have been professional and supportive throughout. We’re delighted to be offering these luxury, idyllic properties with a whole host of eco credentials, right here in West Lindsey.”
The stunning energy saving properties boast additional amenities such as allotments, a tennis court with pavilion and an orchard planted by the residents. The spacious passive solar homes have been built to the highest standards, and have been designed and specified to cost an average of £1 per day (at 2016 energy prices) for space heating, hot water, and lighting.
Cllr Giles McNeill, Leader of West Lindsey District Council, visited the development site upon its completion.
He said: “West Lindsey need more homes that reduce the damage that human activity causes to our environment. These wonderful homes are an example of what can be achieved, and what can be done to live in a more environmentally way. Their unique look and design to promote a healthy lifestyle are inspiring. I hope that we see more homes of this quality, built to meet high environmental standards, building a brighter, more sustainable future for our district.”
Phillip Westmorland, Building Control Team Manager, also attended the site visit.
He said: “Working with Gusto Homes to help realise this incredible construction project has been a great experience for my team. Seeing how construction methods have developed between Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the development has been insightful and it’s fantastic to see the completion of these fantastic eco properties.”
Gusto Homes have a show home open every Saturday between 10:00 and 2:00 and are happy to receive visits from interested home buyers and also anyone who just has a general interest in eco housing and sustainable lifestyles. On Sunday 18th August there will be a family fun day on phase 2 which will include a treasure hunt through the wood and a BBQ. All visitors are welcome. See www.gustohomes.com for details
