West Lindsey District Council is backing a campaign to get half a million people out and about cleaning up their local communities in March and April 2019.
The council is encouraging and supporting groups and individuals who want to ‘do their bit’ to help clear up the litter that blights our streets, parks and countryside.
Simon Smoothey, Street Cleansing Manager for West Lindsey District Council said:
“We have so many clubs and community groups who regularly carryout clean ups of the places they live and they contribute so much to the street scene in towns and villages across our district.
“Last year’s Great British Spring Cleanup attracted a lot of people to get involved and that’s is why we are delighted to be supporting this campaign again.”
The Great British Spring Clean rolled out for the first time in 2017, with a view to it becoming an annual event helping to bring people together and clean up the country.
Now in its third year, the event with take place over a month across the country and within our district too.
