How to sell to the council

Introduction

This information is provided to help companies and firms who want to bid for work with West Lindsey District Council. It has been produced by the Procurement Team with the help of the Procurement Working Group.

It provides an explanation of the rules, regulations and policies that the council has to follow when tendering for contracts and explains how this influences what we do and how we do it.

As a council we are committed to being fair, open and transparent in the way we carry out our procurement and the way we deal with our suppliers and we hope our suppliers will act in the same way.

We are also committed to a sustainable/green approach, making sure that our purchases are environmentally friendly. We hope that all our suppliers take the same approach.

What do we Buy?

During 2009-2010 we spent approximately £12 million on a variety of goods and services, from small one off payments of a few pounds through to large contracts worth hundreds of thousands of pounds which last for a number of years.

Details of corporate contracts that currently exist can be seen in the West Lindsey Contracts Register.

Contract Regulations

There are a number of rules and regulations that control how we advertise our contracts and the procedures we need to follow.
