Saxilby 1940s Event

The idea behind the event is to provide an opportunity for the village groups and organisations to come together along with organisations from the wider community to showcase themselves, raise awareness, build membership and raise some funds if so wished. It is also an opportunity for the village to come together as a whole and for those who are new to the village to feel part of our fantastic community.

By coming together with a 1940s theme the event will have some added pizzazz and cohesion.

The event will be held on The Memorial Field in the centre of the village with proceedings kicking off at 11am, We have added a Fun Dog Show to the ‘menu’ and this is proving a very popular idea.  There is also a Tug of War Competition and a Soap Box Vehicle Race too!  

International Bomber Command, The Lincolnshire Transport Museum and heritage Lincolnshire have all asked to take part along with  lots of vintage style entertainers, street food and a cocktail bar!
