Plenty of opportunities at the recent job fair as employers meet and greet potential new employees.

The event, hosted by the West Lindsey Employment & Skills Partnership, offered residents the chance to gain valuable advice from employers, training providers and advice agencies.  The four-hour event also saw local employers and organisations promoting job vacancies, career and training opportunities available within the district.

West Lindsey District Council is a member of the Skills Partnership and sponsored the Jobs Fair.

Amanda Bouttell is the employment and skills lead for the council and said: “It’s really important that we continue to offer face to face employment advice and support for residents within the community.  It always amazes me, the number of job vacancies that are available.”

Among the employers and organisations attending was Riverside Training based in Gainsborough. Jo Marsh is part of the team that attended the event, and she explained they were offering advice and support for people looking for employment opportunities.

She said: “We offer training for people looking to get into work and run employability courses and wellbeing courses, which helps to give people confidence and motivation.”

The company provides a range of other courses, all aimed at allowing people to develop their skills.

One of the world’s leading machine builders, process and packaging companies, AMP Rose were one of the businesses actively recruiting at the event. The company builds machines mainly for the confectionery, chocolate and snack industries.

Alan Shaw, HR Manager at AMP Rose said: “Recruitment can be challenging at times, but attending job fairs like this helps us engage directly with potential employees.”

Sarah Hardcastle, from Lincolnshire County Council’s Early Year’s Entitlement team, was at the event helping advise people on the funding options available to parents for childcare.

“Being here today helps us spread the word to parents about the funding available and hopefully help them get back into work.  There’s been a massive expansion in childcare funding recently for working parents, and it’s expanding again from September 2025 when it goes up to 30 hours.”

The Department for Work and Pensions are a key skills partner and helped organise the event to ensure that job seekers didn’t miss out on the offers available.

Stephanie Hogg, Employment Advisor for the DWP, said: “The event allows employers and skills providers to speak directly with potential employees, providing a great recruitment opportunity. What is really good to see is that as a result of the jobs fair there have been a significant number of potential job offers made on the day and a number of interviews have also been arranged.”
