Consultation seeks views as part of budget setting process

West Lindsey District Council is welcoming views as part of our budget setting process for the 2025 to 2026 financial year.

Each year the council must agree a balanced budget. This means that the authority’s income must match its expenditure. Over the past 12 years this has been getting more difficult as government funding has fallen significantly.

Respondents are able to take part by either completing our online survey (opens in a new window) or attending one of our events.

The events are:

  • 19 October, 9am - 2pm, Caistor Market
  • 24 October, 6.30pm, Guildhall, Gainsborough (Council Chamber)
  • 28 October, 6.30pm, Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre
  • 6 November, 2pm , Nettleham Old School Hall (Small Hall)

The consultation will provide an opportunity for those who live or work in West Lindsey to review and comment on our approach to meeting the budget and their views on the level of Council Tax. There is also a section for general comments on the consultation.

Leader of West Lindsey District Council, Cllr Trevor Young, urged people to get involved.

“It’s important as many people as possible get involved in the consultation as it is the views of the community that help shape our service provision, ensuring we continue to offer good, value for money, services.”

The consultation will close on Monday 25 November 2024 at 9am.
