Our Local Land Charges team has made the shortlist for three awards at the 2024 Land Data Awards for Excellence - the only awards to recognise excellence and achievement in the profession.

The team are nominated for Best Migrated Local Authority; Customer Satisfaction Award; and Local Authority Searches Team of the Year Award.

Other award categories include Customer Satisfaction, Best Performing Searches Team Member, Best Performing Migrated Local Authority, Best Performing Local Land Charges Department and the Unsung Hero Award.

This Award is sponsored by the Local Land Charges Institute (LLCI) and celebrates the hard work and achievements of LLC teams in England and Wales.

They must demonstrate how they have worked collaboratively as a team to overcome challenges, increase efficiency, and deliver excellent customer service.

The Local Land Charges team manages thousands of conveyancing searches each year and is an essential part of the home buying and selling process for our residents.

Last year the Council’s Land Charges Team won Local Land Authority Searches Team of the Year 2023.

The winners of the Best Performing Local Land Charges Department award will be announced at the Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence on 4 March 2024.

Fiona Barron, Chief Executive of Land Data, said:

“Local Land Charge teams are specialists in their discipline, without their knowledge and expertise, the home moving sector simply couldn’t function! During these difficult times for Local Authorities, the level of diligence, customer service and commitment shown by these teams is exemplary. Their hard work thoroughly deserves to be recognised with these awards.”

Deborah Chapman, Senior Technical Administrator as part of the Local Land Charges team, said:

“We are absolutely amazed and delighted to have been shortlisted again this year, especially as we have been additionally nominated for Best Migrated Local Authority.  As a team, we continually strive to provide the best service that we can for all of our customers and this recognition is testament to the hard work we put in.”

Darren Mellors, Change, Programme and Performance Manager said:

“To be nominated for one award is great, but to be nominated for multiple, is a testament to the hard work the Land Charges team do every day. We are all absolutely thrilled and very proud.”

Since their launch in 2008, the annual Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence remain the only national awards celebrating the achievements and successes of Local Authority Local Land Charges departments across England and Wales.
