Statement on Riverside Walk progress

Riverside Walkway

Work is continuing to take place along the Riverside, Gainsborough, to connect two sections of the footpath and create a continuous walkway from Morton to the Trent Bridge. This work has been ongoing throughout the Summer and Autumn period.

At this stage, West Lindsey District Council are working with partners to address a few minor issues which need resolving before the walkway can open – this includes putting up additional fencing, the completion of CCTV in the area, and some remedial work to the tarmac surface. Further communications on an official opening date will be released in due course.

The project – which has included the purchase of land to connect the walkway – will include a new tarmac footpath, as well as street lighting, CCTV, new fencing and bollards, and repairs to the main path adjacent to the Riverside Approach houses.
