Internal Auditors have awarded West Lindsey District Council’s “Together 24 programme” the highest possible rating, following an audit between June and October this year.
The programme was awarded a High Assurance rating, with auditors concluding that the programme was running highly effectively and on schedule to meet its objectives within the set timeframe.
The Together 24 programme was launched in August 2020, and contains a series of specific objectives to meet customer’s needs through the use of efficiency and technology, by 2024.
Chair of the Governance & Audit Committee, Cllr John McNeill, said: “Auditors found that because the Council are managing the programme though a formal programme management process, this presented sound control and put the council in a good place to achieve its five objectives.
“The audit also outlined that while Covid lockdowns have had an impact on staff resource – to date the programme remains on-track towards the ultimate December 2024 deadline.
“Seeing the Audit report has left me feeling confident and determined as we move forward over the next few months and years, that customer satisfaction in the Council’s services is only going to improve as we get closer to the December 2024 deadline.”
Overseeing the Together 24 programme, Performance and Programme Manager at West Lindsey District Council, Darren Mellors said: “This programme is vital to take our services to the next level – using and embracing technology in an ever-changing world. Customer need is changing and we have to change with it – balanced of course with the need to protect our funding and become as efficient as we can.
“I want to thank everybody at the council so far who has worked tirelessly to achieve this high Audit rating, and keep us on track for our objectives despite the current and most difficult of climates.”
The Audit was awarded as part of a series of independent Audit Inspections on different Council areas over the past few months.
