Introduction
The West Lindsey Business Grant Programme comprises of three main schemes, including capital and revenue grant provision to support business sustainability (under UK Shared Prosperity Fund), capital grants for non-agricultural farm diversification and capital and revenue grants for agri-tech business development (under Rural England Prosperity Fund and West Lindsey District Council local funding).
We have developed the policy for expenditure of UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) funding in line with guidance from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, the Department for the Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs, local emerging economic priorities and business support needs.
The transition to a low carbon economy and green growth are both reflected as key local priorities in the current West Lindsey Economic Recovery Plan and Sustainability, Climate Change and Environment Strategy.
In addition, all REPF funded projects should align to the objectives of REPF. This includes:
- the UK’s commitment to cut greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050
- wider environmental considerations, such as resilience to natural hazards
- the 25 Year Environment Plan commitments
These funding priorities were identified following a period of stakeholder consultation. The strategic case for UKSPF and REPF investment was confirmed following a Green-Book compliant options appraisal, theory of change exercise and business case development.
The criteria and application process for this funding is based around government guidance and has been developed in consultation with partner Local Authorities across Greater Lincolnshire.
These funds are available to eligible businesses via our delivery partner, NBV Enterprise Solutions Ltd (NBV).
Grant funding will be allocated on a first come, first served basis – on receipt of an eligible Expression of Interest and NBV will provide applicants with an offer letter subject to an eligible and verified full application. Grant payments will only be made on evidence of defrayed eligible expenditure and only for work that commences following the offer letter.
