Terms and conditions of Garden Waste service
You have agreed to pay West Lindsey District Council to collect garden waste that has been placed in your green-wheeled bin. The period of collection runs each year from late March to late November.
If you decide to purchase the service part way through the year, then the cost will still be £46 for the collection of each bin, with payment being due again before the start of the next collection season if you require the service to continue.
If you have completed your subscription after the service has started we require two working days to process the request. Therefore if your bin is due to be emptied in this time frame you will miss that collection. Please refer to your collection calendar.
If you move out of the district or stop using the service for any reason, we are not able to give a refund.
We empty green bins every other week during the collection season except when outside factors stop us, such as extreme weather. If we miss your bin(s), we will do our best to collect it as soon as possible. We are unable to give a refund for missing a bin(s) or being unable to collect a bin(s).
Your green bin(s) should be used to present garden waste from your property. We cannot accept garden waste in bags and all garden waste must be in the wheelie bin provided by the council. Bin lids must be closed when they are put out for collection and should only contain correct materials as listed below:
- grass cuttings
- weeds
- hedge clippings
- twigs and small branches
- flowers and plants
- leaves and bark
If you move to another address in West Lindsey, please don’t take your bin(s) with you. If you still want your garden waste collected, contact us to transfer the service to your new address.
The sticker must be clearly visible to crews on collection day.
If your bin becomes damaged via the collection process we will repair or replace it, free of charge, as soon as is reasonably practical. If the bin is damaged through neglect or misuse, the cost of repair or replacement may be chargeable to you. If your bin is damaged you can report it online or call us on 01427 676676.
Payment is required every year in advance. You will be notified of the charge/ payment date. If payment is not made, we will withdraw your service.
