Help with Food
The Greater Lincolnshire Food Partnership has collated a list of food banks where people can get support. To find a foodbank in your area, visit their website.
In addition, there is a Holiday Food and Activity programme for children eligible for benefits related free school meals.
Love Food Hate Waste
There’s nothing like meal times to help us get creative and get together with people we love. Saving food does a lot more than just saving money – and every single slice of bread, potato and chicken breast saved makes a difference. It's good for our communities, our country and our planet, as well as our pockets.
For top tips on how to waste less food and save money visit the Love Food Hate Waste website which has lots of stories and advice.
Too good to go
Too good to go is an app which allows you to buy and collect bags of assorted food at lower cost.
OLIO
OLIO is a local sharing app which let you share good food you no longer need with your neighbours.
Cooking on a budget
Some resources you can use for help with cooking on a budget includes:
- Cooking on a boot strap is a blog by Jack Monroe which started off as local politics and is now a budget food and recipes blog
- Jamie Oliver's website has a tips and tricks article to help with food shopping on a budget
Other supermarkets may also provide similar advice.
