Sports Development
Sports Development is a fundamental aspect of modern day sport, affecting coaches, participants, officials, clubs and volunteers. Sports Development enables clear pathways in sport to be formed from grass roots to excellence.
Sports Development in West Lindsey aims to work to develop and strengthen the practice and quality of sport across the district by:
- Offering quality advice to sports clubs or individuals seeking help to develop/enhance themselves or their sports club.
- Supporting Volunteers and the new inclusion of Sports force within the community.
- Working in partnership with other essential stakeholders in our field to create further opportunities for local communities across the district.
- Increasing more opportunities for Inclusive sports and disabilities.
- Developing activities for hard to reach groups.
- Helping to develop and educate future and existing coaches within the district.
- Providing advice and support towards funding opportunities
- Providing a database of Clubs and facilities available to use within the district.
- Creating a Sports Forum which will bring all clubs and coaches together to progress sport to the next level within the district.
- Provide opportunities and the feeling of involvement leading up to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Community Development Through Sport
A key aspect of sports development work in West Lindsey is community development through sport and we strive to continue work in partnership with other relevant agencies to deliver our service to the local community.
Advice, support and updates will be continuously provided to clubs and relevant communities to help increase activity and opportunities within West Lindsey towns and villages. It is a key part of the Council to keep the community for which we work informed of the work that we are doing for their benefit.

West Lindsey Sports Development would welcome any comments from the public regarding sports development within West Lindsey. Whether you are a coach, official, competitor, or a sports club volunteer/official, West Lindsey Sports Development would like to hear from you.
Our database of individuals within the West Lindsey needs to be continuously updated to enable West Lindsey Sports Development to effectively disseminate relevant information to the clubs members, competitors, coaches, officials and volunteers working in West Lindsey.
