Council Services:

Building Control

The Building Control function exists to ensure that buildings are designed and constructed so as to ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people using them.

The Unit provides a plan checking and site inspection service to the public, builders, architects and developers to ensure compliance with building regulations.  Within this section you will find details of how to apply, the relevant forms and fees and also an online application facility.

Further information that we hope you will find useful is attached at the bottom of this page, including; an overview of our current performance, our Newsletter which details the latest industry and local developments and also our Customer Service commitment.  If we have any training or forums planned we will also advertise them on this page.

The Unit also has a responsibility for dangerous structures and demolitions. You can find more information about any of these by clicking on the links to the right, or you can contact the Building Control Unit (details above under the ‘Contacts’ tab).

For general enquiries or emergency contact details please use the Contact tab above.
